So, I’m watching Runaways. And it’s … okay. I get that the show won’t follow the comics religiously, but I’m still having trouble with all of the increased focus on the parents’ lives. They come off looking kind of silly, petty, and incompetent in comparison to their comic counterparts, who were just kind of arch, if memory serves. I get trying to humanize them, trying to give them a bit of they’re-not-just-outright-evil, there’s a rationale behind their actions, blah, but they already had that with way less page-time in the books.
